Men's Lacrosse Loses to OWU 23-7
Ohio Wesleyan University demonstrated why it is ranked No. 9 in the
nation on Tuesday (April 10), defeating host College of Wooster 23-7 in
North Coast Athletic Conference men's lacrosse action.
After taking an 8-0 lead after the first quarter and enjoying a
13-3 advantage at the halftime break, Ohio Wesleyan went on to secure a
16-point win and improve to 4-3 overall and 3-0 in the NCAC, while
Wooster's record dropped to 2-6 and 1-2 in conference play.
Seven different players recorded points for the Scots led by junior
Adam Price, who had two goals and an assist. Also tossing a pair of balls
into the back of the net was freshman Robert Koehler, while sophomore Colin
Hartnett added a goal and an assist in the loss.
Also for Wooster, freshmen Steve Burton and Tom Canfield each
scored a goal, and freshman Mike MacMaster and sophomore Ahren Olson dished
out an assist apiece.
Jason Fogelson led the Battling Bishops with a 10-point effort on
seven goals and three assists, while Matt Coughlin added three goals and
four assists.
In goal, senior John Park made 18 saves for the Scots, while Ohio
Wesleyan used three different 'keepers that combined for 10 saves on the
day.
Wooster will try and rebound this Saturday (April 14), when it
travels to Springfield, Ohio, to take on Wittenberg University (3-4, 1-2
NCAC) for a non-conference meeting, beginning at 1 p.m.
