Scot Men's Lacrosse Slips at WJU

The College of Wooster lost just its second game of 2002 in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Saturday night (April 6) at Wheeling Jesuit University.

Despite the setback, several individuals for Wooster continued their strong seasons led by sophomore attackers Mike MacMaster and Steve Burton. MacMaster and Burton each scored three times and also dished off one assist apiece, raising their team-leading point totals to 27 and 20, respectively.

The squad's third-leading scorer, junior Colin Hartnett, found the back of the net once against Wheeling Jesuit for his 13th goal of 2002, while tallying single scores were sophomore Bobby Koehler and freshman Greg Wilcox. Koehler had two assists and Wilcox contributed one as well in the loss.

In goal, Scot first-year Andrew DeBord produced 11 saves under the lights.

After allowing its biggest output of the season, Wooster will look for better results this Tuesday (April 9), when it returns to North Coast Athletic Conference action at Ohio Wesleyan University (3-4, 1-1 NCAC). The opening face-off in Delaware, Ohio, is set for 4 p.m.
