Victory Since 1990
The College of Wooster men's lacrosse team recorded its highest goal total and largest margin of victory in 12 seasons as it defeated Washington & Jefferson 28-1 Saturday afternoon at Wooster. The 28 goals were the most by the Scots since they scored 29 against Marietta in 1990, while the 27-goal margin is the most since Wooster (5-3) outscored Virginia Wesleyan 33-4, also in 1990. Leading the Scot attack was junior Colin Hartnett, who finished with eight goals and one assist. Equaling Hartnett's nine-point performance was senior Adam Price, who collected six goals and three assists. Finishing with four goals each were sophomores Tom Canfield and Steve Burton, while sophomore Bobby Koehler finished with two goals and one assist and sophomore Andrew Fletcher had one goal and three assists. In goal, freshman starter Andrew DeBord played only the first quarter and allowed the only goal against Wooster. Freshman Chris Walker played the final three quarters, facing only four shots. Wooster now heads into its most important stretch of the season. The Scots travel to Kenyon on Wednesday (April 24) and Wittenberg (April 27) for two North Coast Athletic Conference games. Two wins, and the Scots will almost certainly finish third in the conference standings.. | ||
