Milligan NCAC Mens Soccer Player of the Week Again
Milligan accounted for four of Woosters five goals last week, including both in the squads 2-1 overtime win at then-No. 6 ranked Ohio Wesleyan University on Oct. 15. He then had another pair during a 3-0 shutout of Earlham College on Oct. 18, converting on both shots that he took. Milligans ninth and 10th career two-goal games put him in the lead for the 2003 NCAC scoring title at 1.92 points per game 11 goals and three assists in 13 matches and will likely vault him into the national leaders when the statistics are updated by the NCAA. Also, Milligan eclipsed the 25-goal mark for his career last week and has moved into eighth-place on the schools all-time scoring list (63 points). The Scots recent wins over nationally-ranked Denison University and Ohio Wesleyan boosted them into the No. 5 spot in this weeks regional ranking (Great Lakes). Wooster, 8-2-3 overall but 5-1-0 in the league, has an opportunity to host the NCAC Tournament for the second year in a row, but will likely need to win out the rest of the regular season, starting with a trip to Hiram College (2-13, 0-5 NCAC) on Saturday (Oct. 25). |
