The College of Wooster menęs soccer team, ranked No. 5 in the NCAA Div. III Great Lakes Region coachesę poll, has all week to prepare for a North Coast Athletic Conference match this Saturday, Oct. 7. Wittenberg University (4-5-2, 0-1-1 NCAC), which has only won once in its last six matches, will visit Woosteręs Carl Dale Memorial Field, with opening kickoff slated for 3:30 p.m. Historically, the Fighting Scots own a 20-8-2 lead in 30 previous meetings with Wittenberg. Last season, they tied 1-1, which helped prevent Wooster from qualifying for the four-team NCAC Tournament.

Last Week: The Scots went scoreless last week, but extended both opponents to double overtime before settling for a tie and a loss, which moves their overall record to 7-1-1.
On Sept. 26, host Case Western Reserve University scored 3:18 into the second extra session to become the first team to knock off Wooster this season, as the Spartans prevailed 1-0 in Cleveland, Ohio. Scot junior Erik Larson (El Paso, Texas / Stony Point) posted eight saves while suffering his first loss as the starting goalkeeper.
On Sept. 30, Wooster battled to a 0-0 tie with visiting Ohio Wesleyan University, which was ranked No. 3 nationally. Ohio Wesleyan held a 15-6 shot advantage, but Larson stepped up again, making seven saves, including three in the second overtime alone, to preserve the shutout.
