Men's Soccer Falls to John Carroll
The College of Wooster men's soccer team dropped its second match in a row, losing to John Carroll 3-0 on Sept. 22 in Wooster.
The Fighting Scots were hoping to rebound from a humiliating loss at Heidelberg on Saturday, but Wooster was denied its chance from the very beginning. The Blue Streaks, who were also coming off a loss, were too much for the Scot defense to handle.
John Carroll's first goal came 25 minutes into the match after Brendan Verner slid the ball past junior goalkeeper Adam Wegner. The Blue Streaks were able to capitalize on another scoring opportunity with five minutes to go in the first half when Brian Cavalier shot the ball at the goal where it deflected off a Wooster defender's shoulder. Fifteen minutes into the second half, Verner scored again for John Carroll putting any hopes of a Scot comeback away.
Wooster, which now has a record of 2-3-2, will next play on Saturday against North Coast Athletic Conference opponent Earlham at home at 2:30 p.m.
