Wooster maintained an offensive attack during the first half and held the Cougars scoreless on defense Less than 10 minutes into the second half, Wooster sophomore Colin Berdzar sent the ball low into the back off the Cougar net on an assist from junior Adam Evans. With the score at 1-0, the Scots were looking to widen the gap. The Cougars however managed to do their best to score and succeeded less than 20 minutes when Brian Rice managed to lob the ball over Adam Wenger in goal.
Nazarene finally capped the win at the 12:38 mark when Josh Robson used an assist from Rick Collins to drill the ball into the upper left corner of the net. With less than 10 minutes left in the game, the Scots continued to press on the offensive end but were unable to finish on top.
"It was a tough game, and we played well," said Wooster coach Graham Ford . "With a little more organization, we can do more."
The Scots now stand at 0-1 in the season. The Scots play at Baldwin Wallace College next Wednesday at 4 p.m.
