Wooster Men's Soccer Drops Another
The College of Wooster men's soccer team fell to Wittenberg in Springfield, Ohio, by the score of 4-1 on Oct. 2, dropping the Scots record to 2-6-2 overall and 0-2-1 against North Coast Athletic Conference opponents.
The lone score of the first half came with 15:08 showing on the clock when Adam Greenwood put the Tigers ahead with a shot past sophomore Ben Wooten, who was making his second career start in goal for Wooster.
It was all Wittenberg in the second stanza as the Tigers scored three times within a 16-minute time frame to take a commanding 4-0 lead. Wooster freshman Kurtis Dilyard scored his second goal of the season with 3:04 remaining to prevent the shutout. Assisting on Dilyard's goal was sophomore Chad Spurgeon.
Wooten tallied eight saves for the Scots, while Jake Gibson made two saves to secure the win for Wittenberg.
