Men's Soccer Battles To Second Straight Tie
Box Score
The College of Wooster men's soccer team kept its six-match
unbeaten streak alive on Wednesday (Sept. 13), as it returned from
Columbus, Ohio, with a 1-1 tie against Capital University in non-conference
action.
Wooster, which is now 4-0-2 this season, grabbed a one-goal
advantage early on when junior Chad Spurgeon scored on an unassisted shot
in the match's 10th minute. It appeared for awhile that would be the only
offense of the day, but Capital sophomore Chris Ries sent the game into
overtime on an unassisted score with 10 minutes remaining in regulation.
After two straight ties, the Scots will look to earn a victory when
they travel to Richmond, Ind., and open North Coast Athletic Conference
play against Earlham on Saturday (Sept. 16) at 1 p.m.
