Men's Soccer Begins the Year at 3-0
A terrific goaltending battle came to an end in the 113th minute of
The College of Wooster's and Baldwin-Wallace College's men's soccer tilt
Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 5), when Brad Goche scored to give Wooster its
third win of the early season.
Goche, a freshman, notched his second game-winning goal in as many
matches, as he tallied the second score in the Scots' 3-1 victory at
Marietta College on Sunday (Sept. 2). The young midfielder was assisted on
the play against Baldwin-Wallace by sophomore midfielder Jon Kruse, which
marked his first point of the fall and the fourth of his career.
The other stars of the contest were goalkeepers Ed Delsky of
Baldwin-Wallace and David Workman of Wooster. Delsky, a senior, produced 17
saves before finally letting one slip by, while Workman, just a sophomore,
recorded 10 saves en route to his third shutout in eight career contests.
The Scots will look to start 4-0-0 for the second consecutive year
on Saturday (Sept. 8), when they travel to Mt. Union College for another
non-conference match-up, starting at 1 p.m.
