Box Score
Following a tough 1-0 loss to Denison University on Saturday (Sept. 29), The College of Wooster men's soccer team rebounded on Tuesday (Oct. 2) and came out on top in a non-league contest at Case Western Reserve University by the same score.
Senior Dan Kelly's goal just 3:00 into play with an assist coming from freshman Adam Milligan turned out to be the only score in a match that was played primarily in the midfield, as 16 total shots were taken between the two teams. For Kelly, it marked his eight goal of the year and No. 21 of his stellar career, while Milligan continues his outstanding rookie season, which has seen him register 16 points on six goals and four assists.
Defensively, Wooster recorded its fourth shutout of 2001, as sophomore goalie David Workman only had to make one save, while Case Western Reserve's John Chenevey produced five saves.
The Scots, who improved to 8-2-0 overall and have outscored the opposition 28-7, return to North Coast Athletic Conference play on Saturday, Oct. 6. Wooster, which split its first two conference matches, travels to Crawfordsville, Ind., for a tilt against Wabash College (3-4-2, 1-1-1 NCAC), starting at 1 p.m., Central Standard Time.
