Scot Booters Drop Tough One To Denison

Chad Huber's goal in the second minute of the match turned out to be the only score of the day, as The College of Wooster men's soccer team suffered a tough 1-0 setback at home to Denison University on Saturday (Sept. 29) in a North Coast Athletic Conference match-up.

The win for Denison marked its first against Wooster since the 1997 season and improved its early NCAC season mark to 2-0, while dropping the Scots to 7-2 overall and 1-1 in league play.

Wooster, ranked No. 8 in the Great Lakes Region, outshot the Big Red 13-9, but could not get one past 'keeper Nick Saper, who preserved the shutout with three saves. On the other end of the field, sophomore David Workman, the conference's goals against average leader, continued to play well in making three saves, but the freshman's third goal of the week held up.

The Scots return to non-league action on Tuesday (Oct. 2), when they travel to Cleveland, Ohio, for a tilt with Case Western Reserve University, starting at 4 p.m.
