Scot Men Booters Record Third-Straight Shutout

Adam Milligan
» Box Score

The College of Wooster men's soccer team remained unbeaten on the early season with a 3-0 win in its home debut against Baldwin-Wallace College on Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 4) to improve to 2-0-1 and extend its shutout streak to 290 minutes.

After a scoreless first half, Wooster poured it on in the second, scoring within the first five minutes and adding two more tallies before reaching the midway point of that half. Sophomore Brian Goche put the Scots on the board first off a feed from classmate Christopher Clyde. Wooster's second score came on a penalty kick by Adam Milligan, also a sophomore, while its third was a nifty header in front of the Baldwin-Wallace goal by first-year Jung Kim off a pass from senior Ryan McManus.

In his second start of the year, Scot sophomore goalie Andrew Darneille saw limited action in front of his net en route to posting his second shutout.

Wooster has two more home matches this weekend, as it welcomes Mt. Union College (2-1-0) on Saturday (Sept. 7) at 3 p.m., and Olivet College (1-1-0) on Sunday (Sept. 8) at 1 p.m.
