Overtime Goal Pushes Scots Past Calvin 3-2

It took a little longer than first thought, but The College of Wooster was still able to dispose of visiting Calvin College 3-2 in overtime during non-conference men's soccer action on Saturday (Sept. 14) at Carl Dale Memorial Field.
With the win, Wooster's biggest yet this year as Calvin entered the match ranked No. 8 in the Great Lakes Region, the Scots are now 6-0-1 overall - their best start to a season since 1990. Twelve years ago, Wooster began 8-0-1 and ended up reaching the NCAA Tournament.
Sophomore Adam Milligan ended it in the 96th minute on the Scots' second scoring opportunity of the extra session. It was his second goal of the match and fourth of the season.
It didn't look like there would be an overtime with Wooster leading 2-1 in the waning moments of regulation, however, Calvin was awarded and converted a penalty kick with just 1:17 left.
The Knights got on the board first in the 13th minute of play, but the Scots tied it up right before halftime and then took the lead on another Milligan goal, assisted by Jon Kruse, in the 64th minute.
Wooster will next attempt to extend its unbeaten streak, which stands at nine matches (including two at the end of last season), on Wednesday (Sept. 18) when it hosts Case Western Reserve University (2-3) at 4:30 p.m.
