Wooster, Ohio - The College of Wooster men's soccer team won its second game in as many days, slipping past Lake Erie College by a 1-0 score Saturday afternoon in soggy conditions at Carl Dale Memorial Field.
The game was a battle between the two teams, with defense proving to be
the key. The Fighting Scots' (2-0) Nate Florian scored what proved
to be the game winning goal in the 12th minute of play, catapulting the
Scots to victory.
The Scots offensive arsenal managed 10 shots on the afternoon, while Lake Erie (0-2) had eight shots on goal.
Defensively, Scots' keeper Erik Larson picked up his first shutout
of the season and recorded two saves in the effort. The Storm's Mike
Loparo recorded 5 saves in goal.
The Scots will take to the field again Thursday, September 7, when it hosts the Cardinals of Otterbein College. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
