Buckwald's Goal Only One Needed for Win in Conference Opener
The College of Wooster men’s soccer team started its 2007 North Coast Athletic Conference schedule on a positive note Saturday, prevailing 1-0 in a road match against Wabash College. Wooster (5-2, 1-0 NCAC), now winners of five in a row, lit up the board during the 25th minute via a Scott Buckwald unassisted goal, and that held up as the only score of the game It marked the sophomore’s third goal this season. Statistically, the Fighting Scots ended up with a slight edge in shots (15-13) as well as corner kicks (6-2), while in goal, freshmen Patryk Tenorio and Jordan O'Boyle recorded two saves apiece in the first and second half, respectively. Wooster returns to non-league play next, as it will travel to Case Western Reserve University (6-0) for a Wednesday night match-up. |
