The College of Wooster suffered a frustrating 2-0 setback against Wittenberg University Saturday evening. With the loss, the Scots fall to 5-4-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference, while the Tigers improve to 8-2-1 and 2-0-0 in the conference.

Wittenberg jumped on the scoreboard early as Matt Borland sent a ball into the box that found the head of Shane Price, who knocked it in just over five minutes into the contest.

Late in the second half, the Tigers built on their slim lead as Borland picked up an unassisted tally in the 75th minute on a short kick in front of the Wooster net.

Overall, the Tigers had more scoring chances, outshooting the Scots by a 17-2 count and possessed a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.

Wooster goalies Patryk Tenorio and Jordan O’Boyle split time in between the pipes, each allowing a goal and making two and eight stops, respectively, while the Tigers’ Ben McAnnis-Entenmann tallied two saves.

The Scots will look to snap their brief two-game losing skid when they continue NCAC action Wednesday against Oberlin College at Carl Dale Field at 4:30 p.m.
