Juniors Jill Berner and Taylor Delhagen highlighted The College of Wooster track and field teams' performances today with runner-up finishes in their respective events at the All-Ohio Division III Track and Field Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.

Berner provisionally qualified for the NCAA Div. III Championships in the pole vault by exactly clearing the 10 feet, 11.75 inch standard, but finished second to Otterbein College's Alysha Gossel who managed a leap of 11 feet, 5.75 inches.

Sophomore Katie Wieferich and junior Tiffany White also managed top-10 finishes with eighth- and ninth-place showings with times of 4:57.97 and 41:08.90 in the 1500 and 10,000 meters, respectively.

Darcy Poland finished 14th (1:04.30) in the 400 meters, Kathy McCreary was 13th (2:29.76) in the 800 meters, Kelly Patton was 12th (16.47) in the 100 meter hurdles, and Ashley Zervos and Erin Jacob finished 16th (42:54.40) and 17th (43:02.14), respectively, in the 10,000 meters to round out the Scot women's top finishers.

Delhagen finished as the runner-up in the 10,000 meters for the Scot men, completing the race in 32:46.05, just off the pace set by Otterbein's Nate Ritz (31:51.98).

Junior Colin Turner came through with a ninth-place effort in the 800 meters with a time of 1:58.89 and Rob Kelm placed 11th in the 110 meter hurdles with a 16.77 finish. Sophomore thrower Rick Drushal competed in three events on the day, placing fifth in the discus (140 feet, one inch), 15th in the shot put (42 feet, 5.25 inches), and 25th in the hammer throw (101 feet).

The Scots resume action next week by hosting the Wooster Classic on Friday, April 22.
