The College of Wooster men's and women's track and field teams competed at the non-scoring Mount Union Invitational on Saturday, April 9. The Scots put 30 competitors among the top-10 on the day, including a first-place finish by freshman Kelly Patton in the 100-meter hurdles.

Patton finished the final heat in 16.02, improving her preliminary time by .13 seconds and finishing just .07 ahead of Hiram College's Lynne Hutchinson, in picking up the lone Wooster victory at the meet. She also finished ninth overall in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing in a time of 1:12.05.

A pair of Scots also finished runner up, as sophomore Katie Wieferich placed second in the 5000-meters (19:18.60) and junior pole vaulter Jill Berner cleared nine feet in finishing behind Brittany Morr of Mt. Union College.

Other notables on the women's side include Darcy Poland, Nicole Calderone, and Hannah Bierlein in the 400-meters with fifth- (1:22.66), eighth- (1:03.81), and ninth-place (1:05.82) showings, respectively, Kathy McCreary with a seventh-place effort in the 800-meters (2:28.00), Erin Fortin, Erin Jacob, and Erin Herl with ninth- (20:21.20), 10th- (20:28.00), and 11th-place (20:31.60) finishes in the 5000-meters, and Dana Doran-Myers who grabbed fourth-place in the high jump with a leap of 4 feet, 11.75 inches.

The men's top finisher was junior Taylor Delhagen, who completed the 5000-meter race in 15:56.10 to claim second. Fellow classmate Colin Turner managed two top-10 finishes, placing ninth in the 800-meters (1:59.90) and fourth in the 1500-meters (4:07.40).

Also earning top-10 finishes were sophomore thrower Rick Drushal who placed seventh and fourth in the shot put (44 feet, 7.5 inches) and discus (134 feet, 4 inches), respectively, and Rob Kelm and Matt Jensen who came in eighth (17.52) and fifth (16.49) in the 110-meter hurdles, respectively. Seth Stuck placed seventh in the 400-meters with a time of 53.11.

Wooster heads to Delaware, Ohio, for the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday, April 16.
