Did You Know?

  • Wooster competed in only its 8th season in 2007 since returning to varsity status in 2000. The softball program had not been varsity previously since 1986.
  • The Scots reached the championship game of the NCAC Tournament in 2001, just its second year after a 14-year absence from varsity play.
  • Wooster has posted at least 16 wins in five of the past seven seasons.
  • In 2006, Wooster set new single-season team marks in just about every offensive category, including batting average (.280), runs (183), hits (288), home runs (13), RBI (156) and slugging percentage (.381).
  • Wooster finished tied for second in the NCAC with a school-record 13 homers in 2006.
  • Wooster hit four home runs in a 9-6 win over Bowdoin College in 2006, the first time in school history the Scots hit multiple home runs in one game.
  • Angie Barone ('04), a three-time all-conference performer, finished her career with a 45-32 record and 577 strikeouts.
  • Shortstop Molly Gaffney ('08) tied a school record in 2006 by hitting safely in 14 consecutive games. She tied the mark set by Kady Krivos ('02) during the 2001 campaign.
  • Maria Gonzalez ('07) was the only player in the NCAC to finish among the top-five in triples, home runs, RBI, slugging percentage, and stolen bases in 2006.
