The Wooster women defeated host Ohio Wesleyan University 116-99 to move its dual-meet record to 6-0, while the men's squad outswam Ohio Wesleyan by 23 points, but was unable to make up the 30 points earned by the Battling Bishop divers and lost 122-115, while watching its record slip to 4-2 on the season.
Highlighting the individual results in the women's meet for Wooster were sophomore Jody Bray freshman Kayla Heising, and sophomore Beth Starling. Bray finished first in the 1000 freestyle (11:13.09), Heising won the 50 freestyle (26.09), and Starling placed first in the 100 butterfly (1:03.25). Other Scot winners included freshman Sonya Tarasenkov in the 100 freestyle and classmate Jen Jenkins in the 100 backstroke, however, times were not reported in those events.
In relay action, Wooster's 200 medley relay team consisting of Jenkins, Starling, sophomore Erin Popelka, and Hesing hit the wall first (1:55.33).
As usual, senior Wes Bennett led the men's squad by winning both the 50 and 100 freestyles with times of 21.95 and 48.83, respectively.
Other individual winners for the Scots were freshman Jim Gilchrist in the 200 individual medley (2:07.06) and sophomore Alex Hastie in the 1000 freestyle (10:47.41).
Also, Wooster swept the relays, as Gilchrist, junior Jody Herzog, freshman Doug Reiser, and senior Dale Edwards won the 200 medley event (1:43.76), while freshman Dave Chidester, Bennett, Edwards, and freshman Giles Mitchell came in first in the 200 freestyle relay race.
Both Scot teams will wrap up their dual meet schedule this Friday (Jan. 26) when they host non-conference foe Baldwin-Wallace College at 5 p.m.
