Wooster Swim Teams Cruise Past Millikin 141-63 and 146-60

The College of Wooster swimming teams were in Decatur, Ill., Saturday and easily swept non-conference foe Millikin University, with the men prevailing 140-65 and the women 146-61. There was no diving competition held.

In men’s action, the Fighting Scots (3-0) won both the 400 medley and 800 freestyle relays as well as six individual events. Sprint freestyler Brandon DuGar led the way, posting victories in both the 100 (52.15) and 200 (1:58.70). Also taking first-place honors were Joe Witkowski in the 1000 freestyle (11:01.63), Logan LaBerge in the 200 IM (2:08.64), Eric Babbitt in the 100 butterfly (57.58), Johann Weber in the 100 backstroke (1:03.66), and Andrew Olsen in the 500 freestyle (5:21.65).

Wooster’s women’s squad was even slightly more dominant, winning both relays and eight of the nine individual races. Lindsey Dorko and Kate Kosenick were both double-winners, with Dorko hitting first in the 100 free (57.93) and 200 free (2:06.38) and Kosenick in the 50 free (27.04) and 100 backstroke (1:06.15). Other Scots triumphing in their respective events were Amanda Bailey, Molly Bittner, Alice Case, and Kristine Mann in the 1000 freestyle (11:34.54), in the 200 IM (2:21.64), in the 100 butterfly (1:03.40), and in the 500 freestyle 5:36.68.

Wooster will be back home next Saturday as it continues dual action against John Carroll University at 1 p.m.
