The College of Wooster swimming and diving teams kicked off their seasons on Saturday, with the women tying for third-place and the men taking fifth at the North Coast Athletic Conference Relays. Overall, the Wooster women scored 130 points to tie Denison University in the eight-team field, while Kenyon College won (158), and the Scot men ended up with 96 tallies to finish right in the middle of their nine-team field. Denison took home top honors in the men’s division (178).

Wooster’s top finish was fourth-place in the women’s 200 breaststroke relay, in which Syd Kelly, Lindsey Dorko, Allie Kibler-Campbell, and Meggie Edwards turned in a time of 2:12.98. Kelly and Edwards were joined by Alice Case and Kate Kosenick in the 200 medley, with the group producing a fifth-place showing (1:53.21). Case and Kelly were part of another fifth-place performance, this time with Kristine Mann and Molly Bittner in the 200 butterfly (1:53.82), while Edwards, Bittner, Kosenick, and Case also came in fifth in the 200 freestyle relay (1:41.90).

Other noteworthy swims included Edwards helping the Scots to a sixth-place effort in the 200 backstroke relay, as she teamed up with Kosenick, Mann, and Heather Moore (1:55.52), as well as an eighth-place finish courtesy of Case, Kelly, Lindsey Dorko, and Amanda Bailey in the 400 medley individual relay (4:22.09).
