Schaffner Earns Academic All-District Accolades
On the volleyball court, Schaffner was Woosters second-leading hitter, averaging 3.16 kills per game and compiling a .191 hitting percentage this past year. She also registered 154 digs (1.59 per game), 31 total blocks (0.32 per game), and 28 service aces (0.29 per game) in 2004. For her career, Schaffner has already tallied 730 kills seventh-best on the schools all-time list. In the classroom, Schaffner has earned a perfect 4.00 grade-point average through her first two college semesters and plans on majoring in biology. Shes the daughter of Robert and Kathleen Schaffner. Schaffner was one of the key players in the Scots 21-9 season, which ended with just their second trip to the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals in the last 10 years. The 2004 academic all-district volleyball team consisted of 18 members, all of whom were key players with minimum 3.20 GPAs from the college division (NCAA Div. II and III, and NAIA) in Woosters five-state area (Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee). The honorees were determined by a vote by CoSIDA. |
