Erin Donnell led the Scots with 14 kills and 17 digs.
In each squad's North Coast Athletic Conference volleyball opener, The College of Wooster came away from Gambier, Ohio, on Wednesday night (Sept. 20) with a 3-1 win over Kenyon College.

For Wooster, it marked the program's fourth straight NCAC-opening victory, as the Scots improved to 6-5 overall on the year, while Kenyon fell to 6-9.

Tied at five in game one, Wooster then went on a 9-3 run, but had to withstand a Ladies' rally before eventually winning 15-13. Kenyon came back in game two, jumping out to a 5-0 lead, however, the Scots pulled within three at 10-7 before the Ladies prevailed 15-7 to even the match.

Wooster got off to a good start in the crucial third game by winning the first four points, but Kenyon came back again and tied it. At 10-10, the Scots stepped up their level of play, winning five of the next seven points to take game three 15-12, and then they rode that momentum into game four, eventually posting a 15-8 victory.

Sophomore Erin Donnell led the way again, topping Wooster in both kills (14) and digs (17). Also coming through with big nights were juniors Shelley Brown and Holli Camelio, as well as sophomore Beth Moore. Brown had 13 digs, Camelio tallied nine kills and 16 assists, while Moore recorded a team-leading 17 assists.

Wooster continues its conference schedule on Saturday (Sept. 23) in Meadville, Pa., when it will take on Ohio Welseyan at 1 p.m. and host Allegheny at 3 p.m.
