Volleyball Falls to Malone 3-0

The College of Wooster volleyball team put up a strong fight in all three games on Tuesday (Sept. 4) against a solid Malone College squad, which entered the night with an 8-1 overall record, but succumbed to the Pioneers 30-28, 30-22, 30-22.

In just its second loss in six tries this season, Wooster was led in the attack department by freshman Kelly McAllister with 16 successful spikes, while junior Erin Donnell contributed 14 kills. An all-around player, Donnell shared team honors with senior Jen Petkovsek, as they recorded a total of 20 digs apiece.

Also statistically, junior setter Beth Moore posted a squad-leading 55 assists, while freshman Becky Rohlfs registered 47 helpers. Each of them had three service aces as well.

The Scots will look to end their two-game losing skid this weekend (Sept. 7-8), when they travel to Pittsburgh, Pa., for the Carnegie Mellon Tournament.
