The College of Wooster’s volleyball team started the conference season with a bang, sweeping Allegheny College in three games (30-15, 30-22, 30-18). With the win, the Scots improve to 3-2 on the season and 1-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference.

Junior Tiffany Rice and sophomore Erin Schaffner led the attack, combining for 24 kills. Sophomore Ashley Quisenberry produced another all-around performance, recording four kills, two service aces, seven digs, and a game-high four blocks.

Freshman setter Heather Wolff continued her stellar freshman campaign with 32 assists and 11 digs, while fellow freshman Carolyn Ciriegio led the team with 17 digs. Libero Mary-Kate Fowkes and junior Laura Ciriegio contributed 13 and 11 digs, respectively.

The win was the first over the Gators since the Marietta Tournament in 2001 and just the third in the series since 1994.

The Scots are next in action on Friday when Westminster College, Heidelberg College, West Liberty State College, Marietta College, Urbana University, Bluffton College, and Olivet College enter Timken Gymnasium for the 3rd annual Kilt Classic, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
