Carly Loehrke (Kalamazoo, Mich. / Mattawan) became just the third College of Wooster player since 1998 to be named to the all-conference second-team, as the league office announced Wednesday that the sophomore post received the distinction on the 2005 All-North Coast Athletic Conference Team.

Loehrke joins former Scot greats Nara DeJesus and Kristen Rice as the only Scots to earn second-team honors in the last seven years. All three used their post-up ability to produce solid scoring and rebounding numbers.

After posting 10.0 points and 7.7 rebounds per game as a freshman, Loehrke led the team in several key statistical categories, including points (14.0 ppg), rebounds (7.7 rpg), blocks (1.15 bpg), and minutes (30.7 mpg). She ranked among the top-10 in the conference in all of those categories.

In addition, Loehrke broke the school record and led the NCAC in field goal percentage, converting 56.1 percent of her shots from the field (147-for-262), and finished first in the conference in free throw percentage (.829) as well, becoming just the second player in conference history to lead both categories in the same season.

For her career, Loehrke has already accumulated 614 points and 393 rebounds, averaging 12.0 points and 7.7 rebounds through her first two years.

As a team, Wooster was 10-9 in early February until a string of close losses led to a 2-5 finish and 12-14 record overall. In conference play, the Scots finished in sixth-place with a 7-9 record.
