The College of Wooster women's lacrosse team came within one minute of knocking off first-place Oberlin today (April 12) in North Coast Athletic Conference action at the friendly confines of Cindy Barr Memorial Field. However, the Yeowomen's Lydia Ries sent the game into overtime by scoring a goal with 59 seconds remaining and then MarySara Salvania and Amanda Kolker scored in the extra session, giving Oberlin the 9-7 victory.

Wooster responded by scoring the game's next four goals during a 10-minute stretch to retake the lead at 6-5. Ries evened the score for Oberlin with 6:53 remaining, but senior Maggie Buckingham scored to give the Scots a 7-6 edge with 3:37 left.
