Women's Lax Loses, Despite Five Goals From Stevens

On Thursday (March 22), The College of Wooster women's lacrosse
team lost to Wesleyan University for the second-straight year on its spring
trip to Panama City, Fla.
Despite the setback, Wooster demonstrated the improvement it has
made under second-year coach Liz Grote. This time around, the Scots lost by
a 14-11 margin, as compared to last season when Wesleyan more than doubled
up on Wooster, winning 11-5.
Freshman Rachel Stevens had a breakout game for the Scots, throwing
in five goals after being held scoreless in her first collegiate contest on
Tuesday. Adding two goals apiece in the loss were junior Miriam Esber and
sophomore Beth Hemminger.
Also for Wooster, sophomore Megan Kennedy scored one goal and had
the team's lone two assists, while junior Emily White contributed a goal.
In goal, junior Kim Christensen came up with 13 saves for the
Scots, while the Cardinals' Lynn Model secured her squad's victory with six
saves.
Wooster, which is 0-2 on the young season, will make its home debut
on Sunday (March 25) against Indiana University of Pennsylvania, with
gametime slated for noon.
