Erin Lustic Earns All-Region Nod for Second Time
College of Wooster junior Erin Lustic (Cleveland Hts., Ohio / Cleveland Heights) was recently named to the NCAA Div. III All-Great Lakes Region Second Team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, marking the second year in a row she has earned the distinction. She becomes the first Scot to earn all-region accolades in consecutive years since Kelly James did it every year from 1993-1996. Lustic’s combination of speed and agility made her one of the most dangerous scoring threats in the North Coast Athletic Conference this past season. When it was all said and done, she was fourth in the league in scoring at 1.56 points per game, tallying 28 points while starting all 18 matches. Lustic recorded a team-best 11 goals and six assists to finish third (tied for sixth) and second (tied for 10th) in the NCAC, respectively. The former Cleveland Heights High School soccer star cracked Wooster’s top-10 in several single season categories, including points (6th-tied), goals (sixth), and assists (10th-tied), as well as posting a team-best three game-winning goals. Noteworthy, Lustic became the 11th Scot to turn a hat trick when she went for three scores in a 6-0 victory over Mt. Union College this past fall. She also tallied two assists in that contest, giving her eight points for the match and tying an eight-year old school mark for points in a single game. In her first two years with Wooster since transferring from Div. I
Wright State University, she has tallied 44 points, already tied for
10th in team history, on 14 goals and 16 assists. |
