Women's Soccer Wins Fifth Straight Match

The College of Wooster women's soccer team won its fifth match in a row and shutout its fourth straight opponent on Sept. 15 with a 1-0 victory over Capital in Columbus, Ohio.

The lone score of the day came just seven minutes into the match when senior midfielder Stacie Packard (Avon Lake, Ohio / Avon Lake) fired the ball past Crusader goalie Jennifer Snyder and into the upper left corner of the net.

The Fighting Scots freshman goalkeeper Nicole Roman (Akron, Ohio / Archbishop Hoban) registered six saves in net en route to her third shutout of the season.

Wooster, which was ranked 10th in the Great Lakes region in the most recent poll by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, will host Thomas More on Saturday, Sept. 18, at 1 p.m.
