A pair of first half goals turned out to be all The College of Wooster would need to ease past Mount Union College on Tuesday (Sept. 12), as the Scots topped the Purple Raiders 2-0 in non-conference women's soccer action at Carl Dale Memorial Field.

Just 5:45 into the match, senior Emily Cole scored her fourth goal of the season off a pass from junior Stephanie Hulke, marking her fourth assist on the year. Scot freshman Lesley Hankin gave Wooster a two-goal advantage when she converted a penalty kick late in the first half.

The Scot defense led by sophomore goalie Adrienne Walts made the lead stand, as Walts corralled eight saves en route to her first shutout this fall. Mt. Union's Amanda Myers also registered eight saves on the afternoon.

Wooster, which has now won three straight after starting the year 1-2, opens conference play with a trip to Richmond, Ind., on Saturday (Sept. 16) as the Scots will face Earlham at 11 a.m.
