Women's Soccer's Win Streak Ends at John Carroll
Box Score
The College of Wooster women's soccer team, ranked No. 9 in the
Great Lakes Region by the most recent National Soccer Coaches Association
of America poll, saw its three-match win streak come to an end at John
Carroll University in Monday's (Sept. 17) non-conference action.
The Blue Streaks, avenging a 3-1 loss from last year, became the
first team to blank Wooster this season, as they prevailed 2-0.
John Carroll scored just 8:39 into the contest on an unassisted
goal, but that would be the only score of an opening half that saw the
Scots get outshot 6-4. The Blue Streaks, who finished with 12 shots to
their visitors' seven attempts on goal, scored on another unassisted play
in the 57th minute.
Wooster junior goalie Nicole Roman totaled five saves on the day,
while John Carroll's stopper produced a two-save outing to secure the
victory.
The Scots, who drop to 5-2-0 overall, will look to rebound on
Wednesday (Sept. 19), when they host Westminster College (4-1-0, 1-0-0
Presidents' Athletic Conference) at 4:30 p.m.
