Emily Sterling scored her third goal of the season to lead Wooster over Mt. Union.

The College of Wooster women's soccer team scored two early goals to get by Mt. Union College (0-8-0 0-0-0 OAC) tonight in non-conference action. The Scots improve to 8-1-1 on the season.

Wooster needed just two minutes to get on the board, as freshman Angela Evans recorded her third assist of the season on a pass to junior Emily Sterling at 2:10. The score was Sterling's third this fall. At 10:32, the Scots added another goal, this time by junior Erin Lustic, to jump out to the early 2-0 lead.

Mt. Union pulled to within one midway through the first period, at 23:44, as Jen Boyd tallied an unassisted goal. But it was Wooster's defense that did the rest, holding the Purple Raiders without a shot for the entire second half.

Freshman goalkeeper Kate Kiley got the start in goal for the Scots, registering one save in 90 minutes of action.

The Scots will be action this Saturday, Oct. 2, as the 18th-ranked team in the nation, Ohio Wesleyan University, enters Carl Dale Memorial Field for a conference affair.
