Danielle Witchey scored her second goal of the season to lead Wooster over Walsh 4-0.

The College of Wooster’s women’s soccer team overpowered Walsh University 4-0 in non-conference action today at Carl Dale Memorial Field. With the win Wooster improves their unbeaten mark to 4-0-1 on the season.

The game remained scoreless for the first 30 minutes until junior Ashley Maciulaitis headed in an errant ball that bounced off a Walsh defender. The score was Maciulaitis’ second of the season.

Wooster opened up the game in the second period, attacking the goal at every opportunity and out-shooting its opponents 11-3. All three Scot goals came within 10 minutes of each other, starting with Brianna Lux’s first goal of the season at 56:37. Sarah BonDurant tallied the assist, her second of the season. Just six minutes later, junior Danielle Witchey knocked home her second goal of the season via a corner kick by Sarah Schostarez. Schostarez and senior Bethany Reiner hooked up three minutes later at 65:38 for their team-leading fifth assist and fourth goal, respectively.

Rebecca Scina and Kate Kiley teamed up to shut down the Cavaliers, as each goalie recorded a save.

The Scots will put their unbeaten mark to the test this weekend as they travel to Sewanee, Tennessee to battle Cal State-Hayward on Saturday at 2:00 followed by a match with the home team, the University of the South, on Sunday at 1:00.
