After playing to draws in each of the last two seasons, The College of Wooster and Carnegie Mellon University finally came to a decision at Carl Dale Memorial Field this afternoon in non-conference women's soccer action, with the visiting Tartans walking away with a 2-1 decision. The Fighting Scots fall to 2-2-2 overall on the season, while Carnegie Mellon, the No. 7 team in the Great Lakes Region, remains unbeaten at 4-0-1.

The Tartans looked to be on the verge of scoring early in the game, taking two good shots at Wooster's goal in the opening minutes, but it was the hosts who jumped out first, as Erin Lustic took a midfield pass from Sarah Schostarez and booted it into the back of the net at 5:45. It marked her team-best third score this fall.

Just two minutes later, Carnegie Mellon returned the favor, knotting the game at 1-1 as Hallie Dumont took a cross from Jessica Howard in front of the goal and kicked it past a diving Kate Kiley.

Both teams had decent scoring opportunities over the next 70 minutes, but the game remained locked. Finally, with just over 11 minutes remaining on the clock, the Tartans found the answer in Abigail Coffin. Coffin, Carnegie Mellon's leading scorer this fall, maneuvered around her defender and nailed the shot from eight yards out for her fifth score of the year.

Kiley made seven saves in goal for the Scots, while her counterpart for the Tartans, Mary Ashe, recorded two.

Wooster returns to action this Wednesday, Sept. 21, with a non-conference match with John Carroll University at Carl Dale Field at 5 p.m.
