The College of Wooster women’s soccer team came away with a pair of 1-1 ties this weekend at the Bobcat Invitational in Frostburg, Md., finishing in a deadlock with Frostburg State University on Saturday and Washington & Lee University Sunday.

Wooster (1-1-2) took an early lead with the help from the host school, as a Frostburg State defender inadvertently kicked the ball in her own net when attempting to clear it during the fourth minute. The Scots couldn’t take further advantage, despite outshooting the Bobcats 12-10 for the game, and Frostburg State (1-1-1) eventually leveled the match early in the second half. Abby Brown made four saves to help forge the tie for Wooster.

On Sunday, the Scots found themselves down 1-0 after a Washington & Lee goal in the fifth minute, however, they knotted it up about 10 minutes later on an Erin Lustic unassisted goal. That turned out to be all the scoring in the match, as Kate Kiley tallied four saves in her first start for Wooster this fall. The Scots won the statistical battle against the Generals (0-1-1) as well, holding a 16-11 shot advantage.

Wooster will next play a night match on Wednesday at Washington & Jefferson College (1-3).
