The College of Wooster women’s soccer team continues to fire on all cylinders, rolling to its fourth-straight victory with ease Saturday by a 4-0 count over Buffalo State College. The match was the home opener for the Scots who are off to their best start at 4-0 since the 2003 campaign.

The Fighting Scots controlled the action throughout, holding a 14-2 advantage in shots during the first half of action. Despite the offensive pressure, Wooster entered halftime with a slim 1-0 lead. The Scots’ opening score came off the foot of freshman Ashley Owen for her first career collegiate goal.

Keeping the offensive pressure up in the second half, the Scots erased any thoughts of a comeback by Buffalo State (1-3). With just over 15 minutes elapsed in the second period, Simone DiSalvo notched her second goal in as many games on a shot from the right side. The match stayed that way until 9:11 showed on the clock, when sophomore Katie Johnson tallied her second career goal and first of the season with an assist from Chantal Koechli.

Not finished yet, Johnson sent a cross from the left-hand side that found Letitia Clark and gave the Scots the final 4-0 margin with just over six minutes left. The helper was Johnson’s first of her career and Clark’s fifth score of her career.

Wooster’s Staci Alario posted the shutout in between the pipes and recorded five saves as the Scots outshot Buffalo State by a 24-6 count.

The Scots continue their weekend homestand Sunday against Alma College (3-0-1) at 1 p.m.
