Senior Joanna Tysko (Athens, Ohio / Athens) put an end to her fine career as a four-year member of The College of Wooster women’s tennis team by earning first-team all-North Coast Athletic Conference accolades, announced the league office Tuesday.

Tysko, now a four-time all-NCAC honoree after earning her second first-team citation in a row and previously being awarded second-team honors as a freshman and sophomore, completed the 2007 season with a 9-6 record while playing against some of the top players in the NCAA Div. III Central Region. She started at No. 1 singles in every match and was the only Fighting Scot to produce a winning record. Tysko, who won another seven matches in doubles play (7-11 at No. 1), finished strong, winning her last three, including two straight-set victories against Wittenberg University (6-0, 6-2) and Allegheny College (6-0, 6-1) in the NCAC Tournament.

For her career, Tysko posted a singles record of 39-32, all coming at the No. 1 spot (12-8 in 2006, 9-10 in 2005, 9-8 in 2004). In fact, only two other Wooster players had more wins at No. 1 – Kirsten Patton (60 from 1985-88) and Liz Richards (43 from 1990-93).
