Pair of Weekday Matches On Tap for The Scots
The College of Wooster aims to get on track this week with a pair of weekday matches. First, the Fighting Scots host fellow northeast Ohio school Case Western Reserve University (1-7) on Monday, April 7, at 4 p.m. Wooster will be looking to turn the tables from when the two last played, a 5-4 decision in favor of the Spartans April 12, 2006. Then, the Scots have the first of five North Coast Athletic Conference matches to close the regular season, when they visit Allegheny College (10-5, 2-0 NCAC) on Wednesday, April 9, at 4:30 p.m. Allegheny won a pair of close matches versus Wooster last year, including a 5-3 triumph in the seventh-place match of the NCAC Tournament. On April 2, Wooster opened up its conference schedule with a 9-0 loss at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio. The Scots tandem of sophomore Erin Bauer (Delaware, Ohio / Rutherford B. Hayes) and sophomore Eden Kovacik (North Olmsted, Ohio / St. Joseph Academy) put up a good fight at No. 2 doubles before succumbing 8-4. Bauer also provided Wooster’s highlight in singles, tallying five games in a 6-2, 6-3 loss at the No. 3 position. |
