The Scots, who improved their overall record to 3-7 and their league mark to 2-3, won five of the six singles' matches in straight sets and swept the doubles competition. "I was very impressed with our play in singles," summarized Wooster head coach Lauren Cline. "Everybody really stepped up and hopefully the confidence from these past two matches will roll over to the remainder of the season." Junior Sara Stonewater won a nailbiter at the top spot, while the rest of the Scots combined to give up just six games in their respective singles' matches. Stonewater prevailed over the Lady Terriers' Ann Haley by scores of 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 7-6 (7-5). At number-two singles sophomore Kristin Walley beat Summer Polburn 6-1, 6-0, while freshman Sara Olson defeated Kana Watanabe by the same exact score in the third singles spot. Rounding out the singles' results, senior Ryan Clark topped Kristin Geiger 6-0, 6-1 at number-four, freshman Amanda Bain shutout Trish Dublin 6-0, 6-0 in fifth singles, and freshman Neela Satyamurthy posted a 6-1, 6-2 win over Mandy Lickwar at number-six. In doubles action, Stonewater and Walley combined to win 8-5 against Haley and Polburn at the top spot. Bain and Clark teamed up to down Geiger and Watanabe 8-6 at second doubles, while Olson and Satymurthy completed the sweep with a 8-0 win over Dublin and Lickwar at number-three. Wooster will look to extend its two-match winning streak when it competes at the Great Lakes Colleges Association Tournament in Greencastle, Ind., on April 7-8.
