Scot Women’s Tennis Team Too Much for Ashland

The College of Wooster women’s tennis team made quick work of visiting Ashland University in its spring debut on Wednesday (March 3), downing the Lady Eagles 7-1 in non-conference action.

Highlighting the match were freshman Joanna Tysko and senior Molly Medaris, who each posted "double bagels" (6-0, 6-0) on their opponents at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively.

Other winners for the Scots in singles action were senior Sarah Drewes at No. 4, where she needed to come back from a set down to win 3-6, 6-4, 6-0, sophomore Alison Inderfurth, who prevailed 6-4, 6-0 at No. 5, and junior Courtney Miller, who swept her opponent 6-3, 6-0 at No. 6.

Doubles action saw Drewes and Miller team up for a decisive 8-2 decision at No. 2 doubles, while sophomores Emily Alward and Katie Torrey added an 8-4 victory at No. 3 for Wooster.

Next, the Scots will travel to Hilton Head, S.C., for five matches during spring break.
