Scots Too Much for Ashland in Season Opener

The College of Wooster women's tennis team got its spring season rolling with an 8-1 non-conference victory over visiting Ashland University on Wednesday (March 2).

Highlighting the day's action was senior Courtney Miller and freshman Allison Dupuis, who each notched straight set victories at No. 3 (7-5, 6-1) and No. 4 singles (6-1, 7-5), respectively. Sophomore Joanna Tysko dropped the first set at No. 1 singles, but bounced back to take the next two to win the match 4-6, 6-3, 6-1.

In doubles action, Tysko and senior Angie Beeler teamed up to easily dispatch their opponents at No. 1 doubles 8-3, while juniors Emily Alward and Katie Torrey added an 8-4 victory at No. 2 for Wooster.

Next up for the Scots will be a trip to Hilton Head, S.C. where they will take part in five matches over spring break.
