Wooster Netters Fall at Oberlin 5-1
The College of Wooster women’s tennis team dropped its first North Coast Athletic Conference contest of the season late Wednesday afternoon, falling to host Oberlin College 5-1. The match was originally slated to be played at the D.J. Hard Tennis Courts in Wooster, Ohio, but was moved to Oberlin’s indoor facility because of the weather. The host Yeowomen (5-7, 1-2 NCAC) took advantage of the situation, winning all three of the completed singles matches and two of the three doubles points. The Fighting Scots lone point came at No. 2 doubles where the team of Emily Alward and Alison Inderfurth pulled together to win a tiebreaker 6-1 and the match 9-8. Next up for Wooster is a formidable squad from Baldwin-Wallace College (9-5) on Friday, April 7, at 3:30 p.m. |
