The College of Wooster women’s tennis team traveled to Meadville, Pa., and took on Allegheny College in a North Coast Athletic Conference match. When the match had ended, the visiting Scots suffered a 9-0 loss on Wednesday afternoon to the Gators.

Wooster couldn’t quite find any momentum in doubles’ action, as the No. 1 tandem of Brenna Hart and Elissa Lauber dropped an 8-2 decision to their counterparts, and the Gators swept through the rest of doubles action to take a 3-0 lead into singles play.

In singles action, Allegheny’s Tamara Prairie and Bauer, Wooster’s No. 3 player, fought hard before losing 3-6, 6-1, 10-5. Also of note, Lauber battled with Lauren Kristofco in No.1 play, but eventually fell by a 6-1, 6-4 margin. Allegheny eased through the other three matches with straight-set victories to seal the Scots’ fate.

With the loss, Wooster dropped to 0-9 overall and 0-2 in NCAC action, while Allegheny improved to 11-5 overall and remain a perfect 3-0 in league play.

The Scots will travel to Gambier, Ohio, next Monday and battle Kenyon College (10-4, 2-1 NCAC) in an NCAC match beginning at 4:30 p.m.
