In a match that was moved indoors due to Thursday’s rain, host John Carroll University swept past The College of Wooster 9-0 in non-conference women’s tennis action.

During the doubles competition, Wooster’s best result came at the third position where freshman Suzanne Hamby and junior Meredith Gavin teamed up to win three games before succumbing 8-3.

John Carroll (3-6) then prevailed at No. 1 singles (6-0, 6-0) as well as at No. 3 singles, in which Scot sophomore Erin Bauer took three games (6-1, 6-2). With the Blue Streaks clinching the match at that point, the remaining four singles matches were played to eight-game pro sets.

Wooster will be off from competition until next Wednesday when it makes its conference debut at Oberlin College (4-6, 2-0 NCAC) at 4:30 p.m.
