Asst. Coach Dana Freeman
The recipient of a prestigious NCAA Div. III ethnic minority and women’s internship grant, Dana Freeman is in her second year as assistant track & field coach at The College of Wooster. While she is involved with all aspects of the men’s and women’s program, Freeman focuses on coaching the long jump, triple jump, and high jump. In addition to those duties, she is an assistant to the athletic director. In her first year at Wooster, Freeman, who previously was an assistant coach at Div. I programs Radford University (2003-04) and Campbell University (2002-03), guided six student-athletes to all-North Coast Athletic Conference honors. One of the Scots’ triple jumpers (Kayla Miller) hit a provisional-qualifying mark for the NCAA Div. III Championships. As a student-athlete herself, Freeman competed in the pole vault at Div. I Kent State University. She earned all-Mid-American Conference honors in both the indoor and outdoor seasons, and finished her career with a top-five performance in school history. Originally from Newcomerstown, Ohio, Freeman graduated summa cum laude from Kent State in 2001, earning a bachelor’s degree in political science with a sport management minor. |
