| Junior distance runner Taylor Delhagen led four College of Wooster track & field athletes at the All-Ohio Collegiate/Last Chance Meet, hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College on Saturday (May 14), outracing three other competitors to win the 5000 meters.
Delhagen covered the event in a time of 15:39.00, 22 seconds faster than his nearest competitor – Malone College’s Luke McCluggage (16:01.60).
Colin Turner, also a junior, took third-place in the 1500 meters (4:11.34) and fifth in the 800 meters (2:00.86), while Wooster’s other male competitor was sophomore Rick Drushal, who came in eighth in the shot put (45 feet, 4.25 inches).
On the women’s side, freshman Kelly Patton ran in both hurdle events, placing third in the 400 (1:10.60) and fourth in the 100 (16.38).
The Scots are scheduled to conclude the regular season at Baldwin-Wallace’s Twilight Meet next Friday (May 20) at 4 p.m. |
