

January 21: Babcock Renovations? –Christie Kracker from ResLife spoke about the future renovations and accepted recommendations.
January 28: Africa Cup of Nations – Adel El-Adaway talked about the Africa Cup of Nations, which is much like the World Cup but only with Africa.
February 4: There Are Amish in Ohio – Professor Charles Hurst of the Sociology Department graciously came to speak with us about the Amish of Ohio.
February 11: Efstedentocht – This Dutch holiday involves ice-skating on the rivers of Holland, according to Bastiaan Van De Lagemaat, Marijke Van Dijk and Melissa Morgenstern.
February 18: Brazilian Carnival - Fernanda Iunes of Brazil spoke about Carnival in her country and showed us racy magazines.
February 25: International Environmentalism – Alyssa Getta and Laura Kuster led an informal chat on what’s being done around the world to help the environment.
March 3: Chinese New Year – Ambassador Fengzhi Chen gave a presentation on Chinese New Year and served tea.
March 24: Easter Egg Hunt – The Babcock Executive Board arranged a mad dash for Easter eggs filled with chocolate with the prize of Disney princess camera that compliments the user.
March 31: Tai Chi & Chai Tea – Linda Morgan-Clement taught some elementary Tai Chi to improve our lives and the program provided chai.
April 7: Not Just Ireland: Northern Ireland – Jordan Henderson enlightened residents about his homeland, Northern Ireland, and its “Troubles,” beer, and prettiness.
April 14: Second Annual International Queer Panel – This annual event was co-sponsored by Allies & Queers and featured a panel of about eight students representing different cultural perspectives on queer culture.
April 21: Erum’s Tanzania – Co-chair Erum Mussa presented on her country and dressed a few residents in traditional Tanzanian garb.
April 28: Queen’s day – One final time, Bastiaan Van De Lagemaat, Marijke Van Dijk and Melissa Morgenstern presented on a Dutch holiday, which involves the Queen of Holland and the House of Orange.
